【胡麻柄グラス】ウォルナット チー 【胡麻柄グラス】ウォルナット チーク・マホガニーと並び世界三大銘木に数えられる高級木材で、色や木目が美しく、衝撃に強く耐久性に優れ、加工もし易く正に優等生。 昔からさまざまな家具や建築などに幅広く使用されています。 産地は現在北米が中心となり、日本で使われている物のほとんどがブラックウォルナットとなります。 ウォルナットの深い色合いは、年月が経つと段々明るくなっていきます。 普通木材は経年変化で、年月とともに色が濃くなるのが一般的ですが、ウォルナットの場合は、徐々に全体的に色が明るくなっていきます。 経年変化の主な要因は、紫外線によりウォルナット内のタンニンが酸化することで起こります。 その為、太陽光がよく当たる場所ほど変化しやすく、日光には注意が必要です。 濃い茶色が好みの方は、なるべく紫外線に当たらないようご注意下さい。 メンテナンスには、もちろん【くるみ油】がオススメです。 【Goma-Glass】Walnut Often listed alongside teak and mahogany as one of the world’s top three luxury hardwoods, walnut is truly an all-rounder. 先日、大阪関西万博にて【小林漆器】さんにお会いしました。 お忙しい中とは思いつつ、ご挨拶に伺わせていただきました。 実演で拝見した【研ぎ出し】の技法は、改めて見ても本当に手間と時間のかかる繊細な作業。職人技に心から感動しました。 そして【津軽塗】への国内外からの反響も非常に大きく、新たな展開に繋がるようなお話も… 詳細はまだお伝えできませんが、また改めてpostにてご報告できればと思います。 The other day, I had the pleasure of meeting Kobayashi Shikki at the Osaka Kansai Expo. Although I knew they were very busy, I was grateful to have the opportunity to greet them in person. Watching the live demonstration of the Togidashi technique reminded me once again how intricate and time-consuming the process truly is. I was deeply moved by the craftsmanship. The response to Tsugaru-nuri has been tremendous, both from within Japan and overseas. We also had the chance to discuss exciting possibilities for future developments.
